This watercolor of Br’er Rabbit and many other versions of the same character would become iconic for A.B. Frost. Writing to the artist, the series’ author, Joel Chandler Harris wrote: “The book was mine, but now you have made it yours, both sap and pith…” In 2001, this image by Frost was used as a stamp to honor him, along with twenty other illustrators' iconic art works, for individually outstanding contributions to American Illustration.
