Pierre Mion’s meticulously researched painting features a portrait of each of the thirty-two Apollo astronauts. The accomplishments of these extraordinary individuals were honored by National Geographic after Apollo 17, the sixth and final mission, had returned to Earth. In the painting, each spacesuit precisely matches the one that astronaut wore, down to the variations in pockets, hose couplings, and mission patches.
