The Society of Architecture Illustration (SAI) was founded in 1975 to encourage the use of architectural perspective and models as an integral part of the communication process between architects and the general public. It was the first organisation worldwide to bring architectural illustrators and allied professions together in one society, provide them with proactive services and promote excellence across all disciplines. SAI provides the opportunity for its members to exchange ideas through its publications, exhibitions, and meetings. Referrals and guidance on legal and business issues are services available for the membership. Another objective of the organisation is to establish high standards and to confer a professional qualification to those meeting such requirements.
