On this course you will develop a thorough grounding in the key concepts and practical skills required for a career in Illustration. You will learn to be a forward thinking, motivated and talented illustrator able to respond to the needs of the industry.
You will gain knowledge of how to interpret a brief and how to work with a wide variety of illustration techniques and media, including drawing, painting, printmaking, mixed media and digital processes. This course will develop both your creative and technical skills and at all stages you will be taught how to use established and emerging media through workshops, tutorials and seminars delivered by experienced industry professionals. Through contextual studies and an ongoing seminar programme you will be introduced to the issues of analysis, aesthetic and theoretical frameworks as used in this industry.
The vocational nature of this course means that you will have an excellent understanding of this sectors employment practices and a sound knowledge of how to promote and market your work. Through our excellent links with industry, both local and national, you will be regularly visited and supported by leading members of the design community.
